How to get here

One of the main reasons that Pelion remains unspoilt is that it is slightly off the beaten track. In summertime you can fly into Volos; at other times of the year, the nearest working airport is Thessaloniki.

Once in Greece, the journey is simple and straightforward. There are a number of car hire firms servicing the airports in Greece (try www.rentalcars.com to get an online price). The drive from Volos Airport takes just over an hour. The drive from Thessaloniki takes about 2.5 to 3 hours. From Athens it is closer to 4 hours.

If you wish, we can organise minibus pickup and transfer direct to the property from any airport (Volos, Thessaloniki or Athens).

Flights from the UK

Recommended flights are Easyjet London-Gatwick to Volos in the summer. If you don't want to fly from London, there are a number of flights from all parts of the UK into Thessaloniki all year round. Carriers include Easyjet, Ryanair, British Airways, jet2.com and TUI.

Some visitors to Pelion like to fly into Skiathos and take the water-taxi across to Pelion (about 15 minutes) – we will then arrange pickup and transfer direct to Dolphins Leap. We will be happy to advise on costs etc if this is of interest.

Flights from other countries

A few European countries have airlines flying direct into Volos. Otherwise, the best option is to fly into Thessaloniki airport using one of the many airlines flying to this destination.

If there are no flights from your departure point into Thessaloniki you can also come to us via Athens, and then make your way up to Pelion.

Directions to the property

The property is about 30 kilometres south of Volos.  If you are driving yourselves, we will give you full instructions when you book.

Car hire

Car hire is easy to organize in Volos or at any of the airports – best to do this online as you will get a much cheaper rate (try www.rentalcars.com).
